Our Story
Stephanie and Luke first met on Valentine’s Day in 2023. In the following months, they saw each other frequently at various local concerts, including Luke’s debut show as Summon Luke. But it wasn’t until a show at A&R Music Bar in July that the two really stood out to each other. Stephanie was wearing a Rush band t-shirt, and Luke immediately started asking her about it, only to be disappointed to learn she actually knew nothing about the band. Stephanie loved the excitement Luke exuded in conversation; things felt easy, and Stephanie and Luke both fondly remember debating the age-old question of ‘if a tree falls in a forest and no one’s around to hear it, does it make a sound?’.
The pair continued to see each other at local concerts without much event, until a show at Rumba Café. Stephanie was leaving early, and Luke was arriving late, and as the two briefly passed each other at the doors Stephanie stopped to congratulate Luke on his show the previous night at The Newport (which she had been upset to miss due to being out of town), flirtingly putting her hand on his arm. Stephanie wrote in her journal that evening that Luke “seemed sad I wasn’t staying… I’m probably being delusional though.” Turns out she definitely wasn’t, as Luke messaged her a few days later on Instagram to say “I’m sad I missed you at the show the other night. Would’ve been great to catch up.” Just a few days later they went on their first date, “albeit hesitantly” according to Stephanie. Neither has looked back.
